Ever since the COVID-19 crisis started impacting every nation across the world, people have been gathering together to collectively do something about the countries that have been hit the most. Some organizations have gone out of their way to help these countries come out of this crisis. One such country that has been fortunate enough to get that much help is Pakistan.
According to recent reports, some of the leading humanitarian enterprises came together to make the lives of its citizens easier by associating with Nestle. They pledged to donate edible products and cash to save people in need. They played an important role during the lockdown to bring comfort and nutrition to everyone’s lives.
Farhaj Sarwar, Director, Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din & Sons Pvt. Ltd. (HSNDS) which is also one of the leading humanitarian organizations actively involved in this endeavor says, “It is our responsibility. As the caring citizens of this country, it is very much upon us to do as much as we can for people in need. God has given us good health and the ability to serve the nation and the world and we are doing what he wants. Becoming a part of the 100 Million Commitment initiated by Nestle by donating 10,000 liters of pure milk was something we were looking forward to because fighting the pandemic together is the only way to get our country back on its feet. We have never backed out on any effort that is aimed at uplifting the quality of life of our fellow Pakistanis and the world as a whole. At Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din & Sons Pvt. Ltd. (HSNDS), we will continue to do what is right.”
This whole initiative was a part of Nestlé Pakistan’s earlier commitment which was to provide Rs 100 million worth of nutritious products to the needy. It was also a commendable effort to curb the pandemic.
NESTLÉ MILKPAK donated half a million glasses of milk to the country in collaboration with Tetra Pak Pakistan, Bulleh Shah Packaging Pvt Ltd, Interloop Ltd & Interloop Holdings, Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din & Sons Pvt Ltd and Texo Poly Industries Pvt Ltd.
The crisis of COVID-19 was a problem for everyone and through this national response, people like Farhaj Sarwar and brands such as Nestle have made a huge impact.
Jason Avancena, the Business Executive Officer, Dairy, Nestlé Pakistan, was quoted as saying, “We will be providing NESTLÉ MILKPAK to food delivery organizations serving vulnerable communities to meet their nutritional needs. NESTLÉ MILKPAK will be part of the ration bags being distributed to these communities by government departments and non-government organizations.”
In the words of Farhaj Sarwar, Director, Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din & Sons Pvt. Ltd. (HSNDS) said, “During these unprecedented times, HSNDS provides 10,000 liters of pure milk to Nestlé so they can distribute to the community. We also provided almost 12,000 face masks to Punjab Police to keep the front-line heroes safe in these critical times.”
Farhaj Sarwar is also the senior Vice Chairman of BSF which is the Bilqees Sarwar Foundation. Faraj has been associated with several philanthropic causes for a very long time. Ever since he made the presence of BSF global, he has been working towards the upliftment of humanity not only across Pakistan but all over the world.
He knows that Pakistan is facing a lot of troubles and challenges. When it comes to healthcare and education, the country needs a lot of encouragement and all the help it can get. Farhaj Sarwar has been actively involved in several charities and humanitarian and philanthropic efforts for over a decade. He has scaled up the activities of not only his brainchild, NRS International but also the Bilqees Sarwar Foundation.
Since 2017, he has been using all his resources to positively impact the lives of more than 200,000 people not only across Pakistan but the Middle East and several countries in Africa and Asia as well. The sustainable development goals that the various organizations under the name of Farhaj Sarwar have been focusing on include:
1. High-Quality, Affordable, And Easily Accessible Healthcare Facilities
Their first goal is to provide people with the highest quality healthcare facilities. NRS International, Bilqees Sarwar Foundation, and HSNDS are committed to this very important cause. They also wish to upgrade the existing governmental medical infrastructure and have contributed to establishing world-class healthcare facilities within the country over the past few years.
2. High Quality And Global Level Of Education
Sarwar and his various enterprises and projects have always been very strong advocates of high-quality education for everyone from the start. Their biggest focus has been on underprivileged children not in their own community but across the world. The focus of all his organizations has been on improving the existing academic standards and systems across the country and promoting awareness about the importance of modern education across all sects of the community.
3. Sustainable Development In Infrastructure
Sarwar has also been quite active in the urbanization of numerous towns, cities, and communities within the country. According to him, there are always some areas that are neglected by the government and also by private enterprises. There is little to no investment in these regions which results in uneven development and haphazard infrastructural advancements. Moreover, the lack of proper infrastructure also limits the capacity of the city or town to deal with natural disasters. With no local recovery systems, it becomes very difficult for the country to handle its population and its needs.
In the words of Farhaj Sarwar
“Our vision is very simple but it is manifold. We exist to improve the quality of life of the various vulnerable communities of our society. There are numerous segments within the population of Pakistan that need our help. We are here to build a healthy and sustainable community. Our goals are not limited to the South East Asian region but are global in their approach. We follow a very stringent international sustainable development framework that is very difficult to uphold. But we have succeeded so far in making the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across the globe easier.”
